Body impressions

Expect slight body impressions straight away!

All new mattresses are designed to settle or dip slightly in the areas that you sleep the most. The layers and fillings are simply responding to pressure point areas (shoulders and hips) and providing support where you need it.

This can give rise to ‘body impressions’ which are perfectly normal. It usually starts to show within the first few weeks of use although don’t worry it does not carry on at this rate.

Body impressions are a positive indication that the generous amounts of upholstery fillings on modern mattresses are conforming to your body's unique shape and weight. While settlement is no cause for concern, there are a few ways you can minimise this if you wish:

1. Make sure your base is supporting your mattress as any dips or weak spots in your base will make settlement worse
2. Try to rotate your mattress top to tail regularly within the first few months so that natural settlement from body pressure is evenly distributed
3. Turn your mattress regularly If you have a double sided mattress

remember the most important thing is to ‘try before you buy
