Best mattress for me?

Which is the best mattress
for me?

So many types and considerations

In the search for a new mattress there are many different types and considerations, so if things do get confusing please ask for advice.

But to help you on your way, in the most basic terms, there are 3 main types of mattress and here are a few of the main things to consider.

Open coil mattress...

The most common spring system for more affordable mattresses

- Border rod or wire gives the mattress a firm edge and helps it to retain its shape
- The springs however move as one unit so you're more likely to be disturbed by your partner moving around during the night

Pocket sprung mattress...

Individual small springs housed in separate fabric pockets

- Technically good for you as the springs work independently to respond to individual body weight and shape
- Minimises the risk of you being disturbed by your partner moving around during the night
- However the shape of the mattress does change to fit the shape of your body, which will give rise to ‘body impressions’, these are perfectly normal, but this does need to be considered
- Don’t be fooled into thinking more springs is better as in some cases mattresses use thinner or smaller springs

Foam mattress...

Technically good as the foam moulds to your body’s contours

- However the shape of the mattress does change to fit the shape of your body, which will give rise to ‘body impressions’, these are perfectly normal, - Hypo-allergenic with anti-microbial properties
- The heat under your body takes longer to dissipate through the mattress, which could be an important consideration if you tend to find yourself too warm at night

Hope this helps but please feel free to ask for more advice and

remember the most important thing is to ‘try before you buy
